Your Certificate of Authenticity (COA)

At Unit One Urban Goods, every purchase comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). It’s your proof that the item you bought is 100% genuine—verified by our in-house team using a multi-step process.

What the COA Includes

Each COA is uniquely tied to your item and contains:

 

  • COA ID / Serial Number (unique to your item)
  • Secure QR Code (scan to confirm details online)
  • Product Details (brand, model, colorway, size, SKU/style code)
  • Condition Grade (New, Tried-On, VNDS, Pre-Owned, etc.)
  • Inspection Date & Authenticator ID
  • Tamper-Evident Hologram (matched to the COA ID)
  • Unit One Urban Goods Seal

 

Keep your COA with your receipt. If you resell the item later, this helps preserve value and trust.

 

How We Authenticate

 

We blend expertise with rigorous checks:

 

  1. Box & Label Verification – retail box dimensions/finish, label fonts, codes, and placement.
  2. Materials & Construction – stitching counts, glues, lasts, toe-box shape, panel alignment.
  3. Logos & Type – spacing, embossing depth, thread patterns, font weight and kerning.
  4. Color & Finish – paint, dye saturation, gloss/matte levels, pattern alignment.
  5. Insoles & Internals – size tags, date codes, inner stitching, strobel patterns.
  6. Smell/UV/Blacklight Checks – adhesives, factory marks, security inks.
  7. Weight & Dimensions – left/right symmetry, known reference ranges.
  8. Data Cross-Checks – style code, release information, consistency across known references.

Only items that pass every step are issued a COA.

 

Verifying Your COA

 

You can confirm authenticity in seconds:

Option A: Scan

 

  • Open your camera and scan the QR code on the COA or tamper seal.
  • You’ll see a verification page showing your COA ID, product details, and pass status.

 

Option B: Enter Manually

 

 

If the details don’t match, contact us immediately.

 

Tamper-Evident Seal

Select items include a matching holographic seal on the box or hangtag:

 

  • If the seal is broken, removed, or altered, the COA is considered compromised.
  • Do not remove the seal until you decide to keep the item.

 

COA Terms

 

  • A COA is issued only after an item passes our full inspection.
  • The COA verifies authenticity at the time of sale for the specific item listed.
  • Photocopies or screenshots of the COA are not valid.
  • Any alteration to the item (customs, repaints, swapped parts, missing box) may void the COA.
  • Sneaker sales are final. Apparel/accessories may be exchange-eligible per our store policy.

 

Counterfeits & Concerns

If you suspect a problem:

  • Do not wear the item. Keep all packaging and tags attached.
  • Contact us within 48 hours with your COA ID, order number, and photos.
  • We will re-review and guide next steps.

Privacy & Data

We store minimal data needed to verify your item (COA ID, product details, transaction reference). We do not store full payment data. See our Privacy Policy for more.

FAQ

Is the COA transferable if I resell the item?

Yes. The COA follows the item. The new owner can verify using the same COA ID and QR code.

 

What if I lose my COA?

We can attempt a one-time reissue if you provide the original order number and we can match records. Reissues will be marked as “Duplicate COA – Reissued.”

 

Does every item get a COA?

Yes—sneakers always do. Select apparel/accessories receive a COA card or digital COA noted on the product page.

 

What if the QR page shows “No Match”?

It may be a typo or an invalid code. Double-check the COA ID. If it still fails, contact us—there could be a counterfeit attempt or a system error.
